A Medical Administrative Assistant provides administrative support in medical offices in private physician offices, medical clinics and hospitals. Duties include answering telephone calls, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, obtaining medical histories, and maintaining records. A Medical Administrative Assistant will have the opportunity to maintain the efficiency of a medical office while interacting with patients and their medical concerns. Medical Administrative Assistants generally work 40 hours per week. However, they may occasionally work over time. The job outlook for a well qualified Medical Administrative Specialists is very high.
